Agora Conversational AI Engine

What it does

Agora's Conversational AI Engine takes live human speech, converts it to text with a selected speech-to-text provider, passes that text to a large language model you connect, and returns the model's reply as synthesized speech through a text-to-speech provider. It also supports optional interactive avatars that sync to the agent's speech. The output is a voice conversation carried over Agora's real-time network, with features such as interruption handling, echo cancellation and background noise suppression applied to the audio.

People use it to add voice interaction to apps, devices and live experiences, with examples given for customer support, IoT and toys, virtual shopping assistants, live event hosts and tutoring. Agent Studio is a separate visual environment, described on its own page, for designing workflows, connecting models and knowledge sources, deploying inbound or outbound phone agents, and reviewing call transcripts and analytics. Developers can also use Agora's SDKs and APIs directly.

Suited to teams building voice AI into products who are comfortable configuring an LLM and voice provider and working with Agora's SDKs or API. Access requires an Agora account; the page offers a free sign-up.
