Surfer AI Tracker

What it does

AI Tracker takes a list of prompts you choose or accept from suggested topics, runs them in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and produces a Visibility Score, mention rate and average position for your brand and for competitors the answers name. It also lists every source domain and URL the answers cite and whether each one mentions you or a competitor.

People use it to find which prompts they are absent from, which competitors appear instead, and which cited sources could be targets for outreach. The Mention Gap view lists sources that name a competitor but not you. Surfer says answers are collected from the AI apps rather than model APIs, and that prompts are run more than once for consistency. Exports to CSV and a Surfer MCP connection for Claude and ChatGPT are available on higher tiers.

It suits marketing, PR, and content teams tracking AI search visibility. The AI Search Analytics plan starts at $82 a month billed yearly, with 50 prompts refreshed daily, and the Standard plan tracks ChatGPT only with weekly refresh. Limits include the prompt cap per plan, no Mention Gap or sentiment on Standard, and API access and the Looker Studio connector only on Peace of Mind and Enterprise.

Before you choose

• Only the Standard plan is limited to ChatGPT; other tiers track all five listed models.
• Prompt caps differ by plan (25, 50, 100, or custom on Enterprise), and extra prompts can be bought on some plans.
• Sentiment and Mention Gap are not included on Standard, and API and Looker Studio are limited to Peace of Mind and Enterprise.

3. Group prompts by topic and let the first daily or weekly refresh run before reading Visibility Score and mention rate.
