- Runs on
- Supported iOS, macOS, and Android devices
- Apple minimums include macOS 15+, iOS/iPadOS 18+, supported chips and 2 GBfree disk space. Confirm current Android and model-specific requirements.
What it does
Argmax SDK is an on-device inference SDK for developers building native applications. Its Swift and Kotlin frameworks accept audio for file or real-time transcription, and can return transcripts, language detection, word timestamps, and custom-vocabulary results. SpeakerKit adds speaker diarization and voice activity detection; the documentation also lists speech generation through TTSKit. The workflow is to add the native SDK to an app, initialize it with an Argmax API key for Pro features, and run supported models on the user's device.
The documented use cases include meeting notes, dictation, healthcare conversation transcription, and video captioning. Swift packages target iOS and macOS; Kotlin packages target Android. The supplied platform guide specifies minimum OS/device requirements for Apple platforms, while Argmax's March 2026 announcement says its Pro SDK for Android is generally available. Basic open-source features are MIT-licensed; Pro access is billed by monthly active device licenses. Pro licensing needs an internet connection at least once every 30 days.
What it can do
- File and real-time speech transcription
- Language detection and word-level timestamps
- Custom vocabulary
- Speaker diarization and real-time diarization
- Voice activity detection
- Speech generation, including long-form and real-time modes
Works with
- Swift Package Manager
- Maven
- Hugging Face model repositories and access tokens
- Deepgram-compatible API for Argmax Local Server
Before you choose
- Apple platform support requires recent operating systems and supported chips; the documented guide specifies iOS 18/macOS 15 minimums and at least 2 GB free disk space, with stricter requirements for some models.
- Pro licensing is counted by unique devices active in each calendar month; the published Pro plan has a 1,000-license monthly minimum and a paid 14-day trial.
- Pro devices need internet access at least once every 30 days to renew licenses. The documentation says Windows is not coming soon, and DiffusionKit Pro is still under development.

Get started
Start a Pro trial from the Argmax console, or use the open-source SDK from GitHub.
- Choose the Swift SDK for iOS/macOS or the Kotlin SDK for Android; follow the installation guide for the target platform.
- For Pro features, create an Argmax developer account and obtain an API key; Pro model access may also require a Hugging Face model token.
- Add the SDK to the app, check the documented platform and model requirements, and initialize the SDK before invoking the relevant inference framework.
Plans and prices
Pro counts unique device licenses initialized during each calendar month. The Monthly card shows $1.33/device/month with a 1,000-license minimum; Yearly shows $1.00/device/month with a 10,000 monthly-license minimum. The calculator and FAQ still show monthly terms when Yearly is selected; confirm annual invoicing and applicability of rollover/overage terms before purchase. The 14-day trial costs $14 for 30 device licenses and converts to a subscription unless canceled. Basic is free open-source software. Pro licensing renews online at least every 30 days unless Enterprise terms allow otherwise.
