Base44
Describe an app, website or agent in plain language and get it built and hosted.
- Tool type
- AI app and website builder
- Made for
- Non-coders, teams and developers
- Runs on
- Web editor, CLI and SDK
- Apps are hosted on Base44 infrastructure.
What it does
Base44 takes a plain-language description of an app, website or AI agent and generates the design, logic, database, authentication and hosting for it. The output is a live, shareable project that runs on Base44's own infrastructure, with analytics and marketing tools such as an SEO/GEO scan and social post generation attached.
People use it by chatting with the AI to refine what it built, editing visually, and connecting tools such as Gmail, Slack, Notion, HubSpot or Salesforce. It is distinct for bundling backend, payments, domains and hosting into one place, and for offering a CLI and SDK so developers or AI coding agents can build and deploy the backend from their own IDE. Code can be synced two-way with GitHub.
It suits non-programmers building internal tools, portals and sites, and developers wanting a managed backend. A free plan exists, but AI generation is metered by monthly credits, so long iteration cycles can exhaust the allowance and push you to a paid plan. Third-party services you connect, such as Stripe or OpenAI, bill separately. Publishing and credits require a Base44 account.

- Deploy a backend from the terminal
- Input: a prompt given to a coding agent such as Claude Code. Steps: run npx base44 create, let the agent define entities and permissions, then run npx base44 deploy. Output: a deployed backend reachable via SDK.
