What it does
Bolt takes a plain-language prompt, or a starting point from Figma, GitHub or a team template, and produces a website, app, slides or prototype. A Plan mode and a Build now mode sit alongside the chat. Bolt Agent routes work to a suitable AI model for each task and, per the vendor, tests, refactors and iterates to reduce errors.
People use it to move from an idea to a published project inside one interface. Bolt Cloud supplies hosting with analytics and custom domains, databases, user authentication and SEO tooling, so there are fewer separate accounts to manage. You can also build on a design system so output stays on-brand. Usage is metered in AI tokens, and the vendor notes that larger projects use more tokens per message.
It suits product managers prototyping ideas, marketers building campaign pages, entrepreneurs, agencies and students. The Free plan needs no credit card but caps tokens daily and keeps Bolt branding on websites. Pro adds custom domains and rollover tokens, Teams adds shared admin controls, and Enterprise adds SOC 2 Type II, SSO and dedicated infrastructure. Token limits are the main constraint on how much you can build.
