- Tool type
- Audio generation API for music and sound effects
- Made for
- Developers building games, creator apps, and real-time pipelines
- Runs on
- Hosted API called from JavaScript, Python, or cURL
- The page describes the API as the runtime; on-device deployment is mentioned only as a licensing option requiring contact.
What it does
CassetteAI is an audio generation API. You send a text prompt describing a mood, genre, or sound event and receive audio back: music tracks of up to 3 minutes and sound effects of up to 30 seconds, delivered as 44.1 kHz stereo .wav. A text-to-speech model is announced as coming soon and is not yet available.
It is aimed at adding adaptive music and on-demand sound effects to games, video tools, creator apps, and AR/VR experiences. Deterministic seeds make output repeatable, sound effects can be re-rolled per frame, and clips are loop-safe. A browser playground lets you hear prompt results without signing up before writing code.
Access is through hosted models called from JavaScript, Python, or cURL using an API key, with usage billed per output minute for music and per generation for sound effects. Dedicated capacity, volume pricing, and on-device licensing are handled by contacting the team.
What it can do
- Generate music tracks from text prompts (mood, genre, reference), with durations from 10 to 180 seconds per call
- Generate sound effects from text descriptions, with durations from 1 to 30 seconds per call
- Deterministic seeds for repeatable outputs
- Per-frame re-rolls and loop-safe sound effect outputs
- Output in 44.1 kHz stereo .wav
- Browser playground for trying prompts without signup
Before you choose
