What it does

Claude Cowork handles work that spans files, business apps, and several steps. You describe the result you want, give it access to the relevant folders or connections, and review what it produces. Examples include a recurring performance report, a reconciled spreadsheet, a presentation built from research, or a first-pass review of a folder of documents.

It can work through tasks while showing progress, use a browser when a website is part of the job, and reuse skills or plugins for established processes. Scheduled tasks support recurring work, while parallel subtasks can help with larger assignments. Its value is in completing a deliverable with the context of your working files, rather than requiring you to copy each answer out of a chat.

Anthropic now says Cowork is becoming part of Claude. The combined experience is rolling out first to Pro and Max, with other plans following.
