What it does
CoCounsel Tax, Audit & Accounting combines AI-assisted professional research, document analysis and drafting in a shared workspace. Users ask questions, provide client or firm documents, and review answers and draft deliverables linked to supporting sources. It can help compare information, investigate an issue and prepare material for professional review, with content coverage determined by the selected plan.
Tax Research includes Checkpoint tax research and Edge access. Tax Essentials offers everyday tax assistance and document work, with up to 20 citation-backed tax answers per user each week; ordinary document summaries and AI conversations do not use that allowance. Essentials does not include the Edge research library or require a separate Checkpoint subscription. The Audit & Accounting plan provides its own content package, which excludes tax content.
The platform suits accounting firms and professionals handling client research, workpapers and communications. Connections to products such as UltraTax CS, Engagement Manager and Suralink depend on the chosen workflow and entitlement. SurePrep and SafeSend connections are described as coming soon. Confirm the content package, users and access terms before rollout, and review all generated analysis and citations before using an output in client work.
