What it does
Cognigy.AI takes in customer conversations from voice and digital channels, along with business knowledge from documents, websites and connected systems, and produces AI agents that answer questions, take actions and hand conversations to human agents with context. Agents combine LLM reasoning with deterministic workflow steps, and can call tools through prebuilt integrations, open APIs and two-way MCP.
Contact center teams use it to design agents in AI Agent Studio, ground answers with Knowledge AI, test agents with simulated conversations through AI Agent Evaluation, and monitor the fleet in AI Ops Center and Insights. Its distinctive points are the shared runtime for voice and every digital channel, the ability to choose the model for each job across several providers, and xApps for showing visual options inside a conversation.
Cognigy suits enterprise contact centers and CX teams that need to connect AI agents with existing telephony, knowledge and business systems. The platform can be purchased as a standalone offering or through NiCE CXone, with different licensing and billing rules. Voice Gateway and capabilities such as Knowledge AI, xApps and Ops Center have their own entitlement requirements. Teams should verify the applicable contract, model and carrier charges, and test both automated actions and human handovers before production use.
What it can do
- Build AI agents with LLM reasoning combined with deterministic steps in AI Agent Studio
- Ground answers in uploaded documents, sites and systems with Knowledge AI
- Run simulated conversations to evaluate agents before launch and after changes
- Run the same agents on voice and digital channels, with xApps for visual choices
- Proactively start conversations from live signals and hand over to Live Agent with context
- Monitor agents, models and projects in AI Ops Center and track KPIs in Insights

Example workflows
- Build and deploy a logistics agent
- Illustrative example. Inputs: agent persona, job instructions, uploaded parcel documents, a track_parcel tool. Steps: set the persona in Build > AI Agents, assign a job, attach knowledge, add the tool with a tracking_code parameter, configure memory, then create an Endpoint and link it to the Flow. Output: a webchat agent that answers parcel questions from knowledge and calls the tracking tool.
- Pre-launch agent testing
- Illustrative example. Inputs: an agent configuration and a set of test scenarios. Steps: run simulated conversations in AI Agent Evaluation before launch and after each change, then review the results. Output: evidence of whether the agent is ready for production.
Before you choose
- Billing is per billable conversation, which is counted by 50-input blocks for standalone customers and by digital messages or 10-minute voice blocks for NICE CXone customers.
- xApps, Knowledge AI and Ops Center are separately licensed features requiring a Cognigy license agreement.
- Voice use requires a separate license for Cognigy Voice Gateway and concurrent-line packages.

Get started
The product page offers a demo request; the developer documentation also has a quickstart guide.
- Configure the LLMs for language and embeddings in the platform, such as OpenAI models, per the quickstart guide.
- Create the AI agent persona and job in Build > AI Agents, then assign knowledge and tools.
- Create an Endpoint under Deploy > Endpoints, link it to the Flow, and test it in the demo webchat.
Plans and prices
Standalone Cognigy and NiCE CXone use different conversation definitions. Licenses can meter conversations, concurrent voice lines and knowledge queries/chunks. Voice Gateway and certain features require separate entitlements. Confirm rates and third-party model or carrier costs in the applicable agreement.
