Dragon Copilot
AI clinical assistant for documentation, information lookup, and task automation for care teams
- Tool type
- AI clinical assistant (Microsoft)
- Made for
- Clinicians and healthcare teams
- Runs on
- Web, mobile, desktop and supported EHRs
- Physicians: web, mobile, desktop, and EHR-embedded (e.g., Epic). Nurses: EHR mobile solutions and desktop. Radiologists: desktop companion to PowerScribe One.
What it does
Dragon Copilot takes in clinical conversations, recorded or ambient, between clinicians, patients, and other parties, along with orders and observations at the point of care. It produces specialty-specific, customizable notes, flowsheet documentation for nurses, drafted letters and after-visit summaries, coding suggestions, and radiology report drafts and impressions. It can also answer questions drawn from transcripts, notes, and third-party medical references, with citations.
Physicians use it to capture encounters and generate notes, ask questions inside their workflow without switching screens, and produce referral letters or evidence summaries. Nurses use it to capture observations and convert them into structured flowsheets for review before transfer to the EHR. Radiologists use it alongside PowerScribe One to summarize prior reports, draft impressions, and get suggested report improvements. Its distinguishing features are role-based workflows and integration with EHRs such as Epic.
It suits healthcare organizations and clinicians such as physicians, nurses, and radiologists. Access depends on role and region: physicians via web, mobile, desktop, or within supported EHRs (available in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and several European countries); nurses via EHR mobile solutions or desktop in the US; radiologists via a desktop companion, currently in US preview. Organizations should confirm EHR compatibility and regional availability, and review the migration path if they currently use Dragon Medical One.

Example workflows
- Physician encounter documentation
- Input: an ambient recording of a multi-party, multilingual patient visit. Steps: capture the conversation at the point of care, let the system convert it into a specialty-specific note, then review and edit. Output: a customizable clinical note, with optional referral letter or after-visit summary.
- Radiology report preparation
- Input: a current study and prior reports in PowerScribe One. Steps: request a prior report summary, have the assistant draft an impression, then review suggested improvements. Output: a draft report with synthesized priors and an impression for radiologist approval.
Before you choose
- Radiologist availability is in preview in the US, and nurse availability is US-only; check current status for your setting.
- Clinical outputs such as notes, coding suggestions, and report impressions require clinician review and approval before use.
