What it does
Dyad is a free, open-source desktop app for building web apps from plain-language descriptions. You describe an idea, choose an AI model, and Dyad generates a working app. The result is standard Next.js code kept in a folder on your machine, which you can edit in VS Code, export, or import from an existing repository.
Typical projects include recipe planners, landing pages, and CRMs. Dyad can connect Supabase or Neon for database and auth, deploy to GitHub and Vercel or your own cloud, run a built-in security scan, and extend its tools through MCP servers such as Chrome DevTools or web search.
Dyad suits non-developers who want to build apps without writing all the code, and developers who want to own their source. The Free plan needs no sign-up and uses your own API key; Pro and Max add monthly AI credits. Offline use depends on a local model server such as Ollama or LM Studio.
