What it does

Eddie AI is an AI-assisted video editor for professional video editors and production teams, particularly those working with interviews, documentaries, corporate video, podcasts and other story-led footage. Users upload video, describe the story or edit they want in plain language, and receive a rough cut or other requested edit. Eddie transcribes footage, finds soundbites, logs A-roll and tags B-roll, and can sync and cut multicamera angles. Edits can be refined with captions, music, motion graphics, color treatment and social-video formatting.

The workflow is to upload, prompt, review and refine, then export. Outputs include video renders and timelines for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro; Avid support is described as beta. Eddie is available as a browser app, Mac and Windows desktop apps, and an iPhone app. It also offers MCP access through compatible assistants and programmatic access through a CLI and Node SDK. ChatGPT MCP use requires a paid plan with Developer Mode; Claude custom connectors are stated to work on every plan.
