What it does

Egnyte MCP Server connects compatible AI clients to an organization’s files and configured agents. It exposes search and file retrieval alongside document questions, summaries and agent requests, with access limited by the authenticated user’s permissions.

The hosted service uses OAuth and requires an eligible Egnyte plan. Gen 3 customers without the AI add-on receive a smaller basic tool set; agent tools require the appropriate plan or add-on and a Power User or Admin role. Some tools write files or initiate operations, so permissions and requested actions need review.
