- Tool type
- Conversational agent builder for Elasticsearch data
- Made for
- Developers and enterprise data teams
- Runs on
- Elastic Cloud hosted and serverless
- Available in Elastic Cloud; agents are reached through the web interface, MCP, A2A, or REST API.
What it does
Elastic Agent Builder lets teams create custom AI agents that answer questions and take actions over data stored in Elasticsearch. Agents combine LLM reasoning with built-in and custom tools that query indices using ES|QL, dense vector and semantic search, and BM25, so responses stay grounded in your own data.
The built-in Elastic AI Agent lets users query data in natural language, and teams can add skills, attach custom tools, and refine instructions. Agents can investigate incidents, run threat hunts, power knowledge and support assistants, or turn a prompt into a Kibana dashboard. They can be exposed through a built-in MCP server, an A2A server, or a REST API, so apps such as Claude Desktop and Cursor can call them.
It suits developers and data teams already running Elasticsearch on Elastic Cloud. The product works with Elastic-managed models or your own provider API keys, and connecting external systems for agent actions is in technical preview. Per-execution charges apply after a free allowance, so buyers should check the rate details for their Serverless offering.
