What it does
ElevenReader takes in documents you upload, including PDF, DOCX, EPUB, Markdown, and TXT files, as well as articles imported by link, scanned images, or pasted text. It converts that content into spoken audio using a selection of 1,000+ voices, with narrators in 90+ languages, and plays it back in the app.
People use it to listen to their own reading material during commutes, chores, or exercise, and to hear research papers or manuscripts as they work. The library also includes 200,000+ audiobooks and eBooks. Audio generated from your own files can be played offline on the Ultra plan, though it cannot be exported as an audio file.
It suits people who read heavily, need text read aloud, or want to listen to their own files. Access is through the web, iOS, and Android apps. The free plan includes 10 hours of text-to-audio per month; Ultra adds unlimited conversion within a 24-hour daily cap. Audio cannot be exported, and accounts cannot be shared.
