- Tool type
- Cloud coding agent platform
- Made for
- Engineering teams and developers
- Runs on
- Ellipsis cloud sandboxes or your AWS VPC
- Agent sessions run in managed sandboxes or in a deployment inside your own AWS account; interaction is via web dashboard, API, CLI, and GitHub/Slack/Linear.
What it does
Ellipsis runs AI agents in managed cloud sandboxes. Agents are defined in YAML in your repository and can be triggered by pull request pushes, cron schedules, and GitHub, Linear, Slack, and Sentry events. Each session runs in its own sandbox with a configured environment, compute allocation, and budget.
Teams use Ellipsis for code review on each push, answering @ellipsis mentions in GitHub, Slack, and Linear threads, and checks such as flagging missing test coverage on changed API routes. Agents are configured as code: prompts, repositories, hooks, and budgets live in version-controlled YAML that goes live on merge. Sessions can also be started from a REST API, an agent CLI, or Python and TypeScript SDKs.
Ellipsis suits engineering teams that want agents wired into their GitHub and chat workflows. Pricing is usage-based on tokens plus a 10% platform fee, with no per-seat fees, or deployment into your own AWS account with AWS costs billed separately. The Sentry integration is not generally released.

Before you choose
- Costs are usage-based: token cost plus a 10% platform fee in managed SaaS, with CPU and memory billed per hour; set session and daily budgets to cap spend.
- Deploying into your own AWS account bills AWS costs separately and requires your own VPC setup; a self-guided BYOC path is listed for the support tiers.
- The Sentry integration is not generally released, so verify availability before relying on it.
