What it does
Happenstance is an AI people-search tool for finding people across accounts you connect. Ask questions in plain English—for example, who in your network invests in a sector or who can introduce you to someone at a company. It builds a searchable map, scores relationships using signals such as email frequency and shared meetings, and returns ranked people with explanations and direct, friend, or group paths.
It is aimed at people doing sales, recruiting, fundraising, job seeking, investing, and community work. The web app and iPhone app provide chat; the service also offers a public API, MCP server, CLI, and integrations for using searches from ChatGPT, Claude, and Claude Code. To begin, create an account and connect relevant sources such as Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, LinkedIn, X, or Instagram. Friends and groups can extend searches to networks shared with you.
Search results depend on connected accounts and the relationships they contain. Friends and groups extend search through networks shared with you. Chat is free with usage limits; Pro costs $30 monthly or $24/month billed yearly. API and MCP use separate credits, so a paid chat plan does not provide an unlimited developer allowance.
