What it does
Linkup is a web search API for AI applications. A developer sends a query, a URL to fetch, or a batch of tasks, and receives ranked results, sourced answers with full-text snippets, clean markdown or typed JSON from a page, or a longer research report with inline citations.
Search returns results synchronously, Fetch extracts the content of a known page, and Research runs asynchronously for multi-source synthesis that can take several minutes. The index can be tuned by choosing trusted sources, preferred domains and freshness. Enterprise customers can build a private index of proprietary data or run the indexing layer inside their own cloud.
Linkup suits developers and engineering teams building AI products that need sourced web answers. Access requires an API key from the Linkup app. Pricing is per request by endpoint and mode, with 4,000 free queries and custom Enterprise pricing. Limitations: it is an API rather than an end-user app, and Extract is in closed beta by request.
What it can do
- Search: sub-second to a few seconds web search returning ranked results or sourced answers
- Fetch: extract clean LLM-ready markdown or typed JSON from a known URL
- Research: asynchronous multi-source deep research reports with inline citations
- Tasks: batch up to 100 Search, Fetch or Research calls
- Private Index: dedicated access-controlled index of proprietary data (Enterprise)
- Bring Your Own Cloud: run the indexing layer inside your own infrastructure (Enterprise)
Works with
- OpenAI SDK wrapper
- LangChain
- CrewAI
