What it does

Lovable takes natural-language descriptions of an application and produces a working web app: frontend, backend, database, authentication and integrations, all backed by editable code. Each app lives in a project with its own chat, preview, code and version history, and projects sit inside shared workspaces. You can also use separate Chats outside projects to think through ideas before sending build work to a project.

People use it to turn prototypes into internal tools, landing pages, dashboards and small products by prompting and iterating in the project chat. What sets it apart is the bundled stack: hosting, a built-in backend (database, auth, storage, edge functions) and AI features come included, a connector catalog links services such as Slack, Notion and HubSpot, and Git sync pushes the code to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. You can also bring your own Supabase project.

It suits product managers, designers, marketers, operations teams, founders, agencies and developers who want working software without starting from a blank codebase. You can sign up free with email, Google, GitHub or Apple, no card needed. Plans are priced by credits rather than projects or seats, so heavy use consumes credits. Supabase usage on your own project is billed separately by Supabase, and large files (over 10 MB) cannot be edited by Lovable.

What it can do

  • Generate full-stack web apps from natural-language prompts
  • Built-in backend with database, authentication, storage and edge functions
  • Publish with hosting, lovable.app domains and custom domains on Pro
  • Two-way Git sync with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket
  • Connector catalog plus custom REST connectors and custom MCP servers
  • Shared workspaces with roles, permissions and per-member credit limits

Works with

  • Slack
  • Notion
  • HubSpot
  • Google Workspace
  • Supabase
  • GitHub
  • GitLab
  • Bitbucket

Example workflows

Prototype an internal tool
Input: a plain-language description of a tracker or dashboard. Steps: create a project, prompt the chat, review the preview, approve database changes, iterate. Output: a working app with a backend that can be published to a lovable.app domain.
Hand code to engineers
Input: an existing Lovable project. Steps: a workspace admin links a GitHub account, then connects the project to a repository. Output: a private repository with two-way sync that developers can review through branches and pull requests.

Before you choose

  • Plans are credit-based, so usage volume drives cost more than seats do
  • Switching a project between the built-in backend and your own Supabase project is not automatic
  • Enterprise-only features include GitHub Enterprise Server sync, build secrets and managed registry
