Midjourney
AI image and video generation from text and image prompts, on the web or in Discord
- Tool type
- AI image and video generator
- Made for
- Individual creators and teams
- Runs on
- Midjourney website and Discord
- Web Create page at midjourney.com and the Midjourney Discord server.
What it does
Midjourney takes text prompts, optionally combined with uploaded images used as edit, style, or image-prompt references, and generates images. Some plans also animate images into video. Results appear in a creation feed where you can vary, upscale, rerun, organize into folders, and download them.
People use the Create page on midjourney.com to run prompts, adjust default settings such as aspect ratio, stylization, and variety, and work inside folders. Discord remains a supported place to work, and the web page notes that images created there can be opened on the site. Stealth Mode, which keeps images and videos private, is limited to the Pro and Mega plans.
Midjourney suits individual creators and teams who want image generation through a subscription, though usage is governed by GPU time. It requires a paid subscription, with Basic at $10 per month. Plan limits include concurrent prompt caps, job queue sizes, and commercial-use terms that require the Pro or Mega plan for companies with over $1,000,000 USD in gross annual revenue.
