What it does
The MotherDuck MCP Server lets an MCP-compatible AI agent query schemas and data stored in a MotherDuck cloud warehouse built on DuckDB. Named clients include Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Cursor. Users ask questions in plain English, and the agent can also create visualizations and manage pipelines.
Every query runs in isolated compute and returns traceable SQL, so results can be verified. Compute is isolated with read-only access by default. From an LLM client, the server can also generate native, shareable artifacts for ad hoc analysis, with no separate dashboarding tool required.
It suits business users who want answers without writing SQL, and engineers who want to audit agent-generated queries. The free Lite plan includes 10 GB of storage and 10 hours of Pulse compute per month, with no credit card required. Each organization is scoped to a single cloud region, and MotherDuck is a managed cloud service with no on-premises version.
