- Tool type
- Text-to-visual generator
- Made for
- Presenters, writers, teachers, teams
- Runs on
- Web app; limited mobile
- Mobile can't generate visuals yet
What it does
Napkin AI takes text you write, paste or import (PPT, DOC, PDF, HTML or Markdown files) and generates visuals from it: infographics, diagrams, flowcharts, mind maps and data charts. It works directly from your content rather than from prompts. A second part, Napkin Slides, builds full presentation decks from your ideas. Output can be exported as PNG, PDF, PPT or SVG.
You select the text you want visualised, click the Autospark icon, and pick the generated option that fits your message. Every element stays editable: colors, fonts, layouts and icons can all be changed, and brand styles can be applied. Teams can share a Teamspace, edit together in real time and comment on Visuals and Slides. Content can be generated in 60+ languages.
It suits people who explain ideas in slides, documents, blog posts, teaching materials or social posts and don't want to draw diagrams by hand. Access is through a web account; no download is needed. Mobile can view work and create or edit presentations, but visual generation isn't available there yet. Generation uses AI credits, roughly one per word selected, and the free plan limits these weekly. Free visuals carry Napkin branding, and PPT and SVG export require a paid plan.
What it can do
- Generate infographics, diagrams, flowcharts, mind maps and data charts from selected text
- Import PPT, DOC, PDF, HTML and MD files as source content
- Edit colors, fonts, layouts, icons and individual elements after generation
- Apply brand styles and custom branding on paid plans
- Export to PNG, PDF, PPT and SVG
- Napkin Slides builds presentation decks; Teamspaces support real-time editing and comments
