What it does

Netskope Skylight AI Gateway is a control layer between AI applications or agents and the language models they use. It centralizes authentication, traffic policies, and content inspection for calls to public and privately hosted models. Teams can use a common entry point to manage model access and inspect prompts and responses.

The gateway supports unique agent tokens, searchable API logs, rate limits, and consumption tracking. It integrates AI guardrails, data-loss prevention, and threat inspection, with support for multiple model providers including OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Anthropic. Its purpose is to control application-to-model traffic, including traffic that stays inside a private environment.

The software is deployed as a virtual appliance near the models, with AWS VPCs and VMware ESXi identified as supported environments. Begin with a Netskope demo and agree on deployment, routing, model coverage, and inspection policies. Evaluate latency and operational behavior with your own applications, and confirm licensing and integration requirements before routing production traffic through the gateway.
