Nomic
AI agents for drawing review, submittals, code checks, and project knowledge search in architecture and engineering work.
- Tool type
- AI agent platform for AEC project data
- Made for
- AEC firms and design, engineering, and project teams
- Runs on
- Web app and Developer API
- Browser-based platform; the API is for building custom tools, not an end-user app.
What it does
Nomic takes drawing sets, specifications, submittals, RFIs, scanned PDFs, and project files and returns cited answers, structured review outputs, and PDF markups. Inputs can come from SharePoint, Autodesk Forma, Box, and Egnyte, and the platform supports standards-based drawing reviews, submittal cross-checks against drawings and specs, and natural-language queries across project documents.
Teams use it through a chat-style agent, repeatable workflows, and a Developer API for building custom processes. Answers are grounded in cited sections, native DWG and IFC files can be read and queried, and the platform covers 380+ building codes and standards. Business and Enterprise plans sync external sources, while Individual users upload files directly.
It suits AEC firms and design or engineering teams doing document-heavy review and retrieval, with human review still required for final decisions. An account is required. The Free plan includes limited agent requests with no credit card, Individual costs $20 per month, and Business requires a 25-seat minimum at $40 per user per month. Data hosting regions are EU, AU, US, or UK, with multi-region hosting on Enterprise.

Example workflows
- Drawing set review
- Input: a multi-sheet drawing package and firm QA/QC standards. Steps: the Drawing Review agent checks each page against the standards. Output: a findings table and cited PDF markups, which can be sent to supported project tools as issues.
- Submittal log setup
- Input: a full project manual and submittal packages. Steps: the agent generates a starting submittal log and cross-references packages against drawings and specs. Output: a first-pass review and log for human decision-making.
Before you choose
- Outputs are cited and structured, but final approval still requires human review.
- Agent API access is only included on Business and Enterprise plans.
- AI usage is a dollar balance; on Individual you top up on demand, and on Business and Enterprise it is pooled across seats.
