What it does
Onlook is a local-first visual editor that works directly with application code. Its canvas displays working pages, so changes to layout, components and design tokens are changes to the product rather than a separate mockup. You can place screenshots and other references beside the live work to guide an AI agent as it edits the project.
The editor supports bringing an existing Claude or ChatGPT subscription into the workflow. Designers can explore alternatives, keep the result aligned with the codebase and hand it off through a branch or artifact for review. Onlook is free to download, with team and hosted arrangements offered separately. Review generated code and project changes before merging, and check the supported project setup and operating system in the current installer.
