What it does
Openlayer takes in the AI systems a company runs, including LLMs, retrieval pipelines, autonomous agents, classic machine learning models, and multimodal systems, whether built in house or bought from a vendor. It produces an organization-wide inventory, pre-deployment test results, production traces and monitoring, runtime guardrail decisions, framework-mapped compliance evidence, and token spend reporting.
Teams work across seven layers: Discovery, Registration, Testing, Observability, Guardrails, Compliance, and Cost Controls, with a gateway that routes and enforces policy on AI traffic. Engineering teams run evaluation suites in CI/CD and trace live traffic, while security, compliance, and finance teams draw on the same data. It connects through SDKs, framework integrations, a CLI, and a REST API.
It is built for regulated enterprises such as insurance, financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare. The Basic plan is free to start and includes five projects for one member, 20,000 monthly inferences, and community support. Enterprise pricing is custom-quoted and adds SAML SSO, on-premise deployment, and a 99.99% SLA. Basic data retention is three months.
What it can do
- Discover and inventory AI systems across the organization, including automatic shadow-AI detection
- Register systems with owner, purpose, data sensitivity, and risk tier using custom intake forms
- Run 175+ out-of-the-box evaluations, regression tests, and CI/CD testing before and after deployment
- Trace prompts, responses, and tool calls on live traffic with continuous online evaluation
- Block prompt injection, jailbreaks, and PII leakage through guardrails and gateway policy enforcement
- Map systems to EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO 42001 and produce audit-ready evidence
Works with
- Every major LLM provider
- SDKs
- CLI
- REST API
- Git
- OpenTelemetry
- Snowflake
Before you choose
- Enterprise pricing is custom-quoted and not published; contact the team through the pricing page to scope it.
- Basic includes three months of data retention on a single workspace, and compliance reporting and SSO sit on Enterprise.
- Platform coverage depends on how each AI source is connected: built apps use the SDK, traffic can route through the gateway, and vendor SaaS relies on telemetry or APIs, so some vendor AI may be register-and-track only.
