What it does

Async, formerly Podcastle, is a browser-based workspace for recording and editing video and audio. Users upload footage or record in the built-in studio, then tell Async in chat what to change: cut filler and bad takes, sync cuts to music, clean audio with Magic Dust, add captions, dub or translate, reframe for social formats, or turn long recordings into short clips. They can also edit manually on a timeline.

It can generate B-roll, images, music and sound effects, and AI voices, with video generation available on higher plans using third-party models. A multitrack recording studio captures each guest on a separate track. The platform is aimed at creators, small teams and businesses producing podcasts, interviews, social video and training content, and the company also sells a separate text-to-speech API for developers.

Almost every AI action consumes credits: the free plan includes 10 lifetime credits and 1 hour of media for the AI chat, while paid plans include monthly credits and top-up packs. An iOS app exists for some features such as AI Clips.

The pricing page offers a Monthly/Yearly toggle and says yearly plans save 40%; current paid prices are shown on the pricing page. AI actions use credits (Free: 10 lifetime; Essentials: 450/month; Pro: 1200/month; Teams: 3000/month; Business: custom) and top-up packs are sold separately. Teams and Business are not detailed as plans here. Plans carried over from Podcastle per the rebrand post.
