Pollinations.ai adds static-site hosting at pollinations.app
“This week: static-site hosting at <name>.pollinations.app. Publish via Polli CLI, SDK, MCP, or Sites API. Barbara can publish a built page and return its URL. Sites are public. Kling 3.0 Standard and FLUX 3 Max also joined the video catalog.”

What it does
Pollinations.ai provides one API for text, image, video, audio, realtime voice, embeddings and 3D generation. Developers send prompts or other documented inputs to selected models and receive generated content; the API also supports embeddings. The site additionally offers hosted prompt-and-tool agents, code agents, cloud Linux sandboxes and hosted MCP tools. Its CLI is presented as an entry point for people and agents, and the site describes free static-site hosting.
The product is intended for developers building AI applications and agents, as well as people who want to call hosted models. Start by creating an API key, then use the quick-start examples or OpenAI SDK with Pollinations’ API base URL. Generation requests require a secret key; frontend and mobile apps are directed to a user-authorization flow that obtains a scoped secret key. The interactive docs can authorize a request tester through Pollinations Connect.
Costs are usage-based: the homepage says users pay as they go, with Pollen added to a balance, and documents users paying their own usage through Pollinations Connect. The vendor documentation does not provide a model-by-model rate card. Keep secret keys out of browser code; app keys identify the app but cannot authenticate generation requests. The model catalog may change, and clients should account for canonical model IDs and aliases.
What it can do
- Generate text, images, video, audio, realtime voice, embeddings and 3D through one API
- Call text models using an OpenAI SDK with a Pollinations API base URL
- Build or call hosted prompt-and-tool agents and code agents
- Run cloud Linux sandboxes, including SSH and VS Code access
- Use hosted MCP tools and connectors, including web search and computer access
- Upload images, audio and video for model calls and receive links for generated files
Works with
- OpenAI SDK
- OpenCode
- MCP clients
- SSH
- VS Code
Before you choose
- Generation requests require a secret key. A publishable pk_ key only identifies an app and receives 401 if sent as a generation credential.
- API use consumes Pollen; the vendor pages do not provide itemized model rates or establish a recurring free tier.
- The model catalog uses publisher/model IDs and aliases; client implementations should allow for catalog changes.

Get started
The site links to key creation; generation requests require a secret API key.
- Create a secret API key at the Pollinations keys page.
- Choose an available model and use the API quick start or an OpenAI SDK configured with Pollinations’ base URL.
- For a frontend or mobile app, register an App Key and use OAuth authorization-code flow with PKCE or the device flow to obtain a user-authorized secret key.
Plans and prices
Usage is charged in Pollen. The homepage says users pay as they go; Pollinations Connect lets users set a spending limit and pay for their own usage. The vendor documentation does not state model-specific units or rates. Free Quest credits are described as rewards, not a recurring free tier.
- Top up a Pollen balance
- Pay for usage
- Pollinations Connect supports user-authorized spending limits
