What it does

Replit takes a plain-language description of what you want, plus optional uploaded or connected data, and produces working apps, websites and other outputs. Its chat lets you ask questions, research ideas and document a plan. The Agent writes the code, and Design offers an infinite canvas for adjusting layouts before applying them to an app. Output types listed on the homepage include websites, mobile apps, slides, animation, data visualizations, 3D games, documents and spreadsheets.

People start in chat, move to Build, and publish from the same place. The platform includes authentication, database, hosting and monitoring without separate setup, and connects to services such as OpenAI, Stripe and Google Workspace. Intelligent model routing picks a model per task, and a Free Mode lets you brainstorm and create without token costs. The docs also describe asking Replit to find an existing project and add a feature or fix, and Agent 4 supports multiple builders working on one codebase.

It suits non-coders prototyping ideas, product managers, designers, and teams building internal tools; the Enterprise plan adds SSO/SCIM, audit logs and private networking options. You can use it on the web, in a desktop app (macOS, Windows) or a mobile app (iOS, Android) after creating an account. The first prompt is free, and the site says no credit card is needed to start. Replit notes that Agent output is probabilistic and may contain mistakes, so review what it builds.
