Retriever AI
AI browser agent for web research and task automation
- Tool type
- AI browser agent
- Made for
- Builders and work teams
- Runs on
- Chrome extension and Cloud browser
- The extension works in the user's browser; Cloud runs tasks in a separate browser environment.
What it does
Retriever AI is an AI browser agent for people doing research, sales, and recurring operations work. Give it a goal and a page or starting URL; it can navigate the open web and sites where you are signed in, collect information, fill forms, update systems, and return results such as structured data or a table with source links. Use it in its Chrome extension or run tasks in a separate cloud browser. Teams can also call the agent through an API, MCP client, CLI, or SDK.
For repeated browser work, the Chrome extension can record a task as a Subroutine and replay it in the page. The agent can select parameters for each item while the saved script performs the action; results can be applied to lists or spreadsheet rows. The product is aimed at individual builders as well as GTM and operations teams, with APIs for product developers. Free Mode covers tasks started in the extension or Cloud dashboard, subject to sponsored content and a daily fair-use allowance. Cloud API and certain MCP or WhatsApp runs require a paid plan. Some site interactions need re-recording after site API changes; tasks relying on WebSockets, WebRTC, or complex client-side processing may need DOM actions and can be slower or less reliable.
What it can do
- Navigate and interact with open or signed-in websites
- Extract web data and return structured results with source links
- Fill forms and update web applications
- Record browser tasks as reusable Subroutines
- Run scheduled or triggered tasks in a cloud browser
- Call the agent through API, MCP, CLI, and SDK
Works with

- ChatGPT
- Google Sheets
Before you choose
- Free Mode includes sponsored content and a daily fair-use allowance; some cloud/API, MCP, and WhatsApp tasks require a paid plan.
- Recorded Subroutines may need re-recording when a site's API changes; WebSocket, WebRTC, and complex client-side tasks may require slower, less reliable DOM-based handling.
- Eligible Free Mode tasks use zero credits for supported AI inference and Cloud browser time. Enrichment and managed proxies can consume credits separately.

Get started
The official getting-started path is to install the extension, describe the outcome, and run.
- Install Retriever AI from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open the page or provide a starting URL and describe the task outcome.
- Run the task; record it as a Subroutine if it is work you will repeat.
Plans and prices
Free Mode has daily fair-use limits, sponsored content, and no AI API key requirement for eligible extension or Cloud dashboard tasks. New accounts receive 100 one-time welcome credits, separate from the recurring free allowance. Paid plans use credits for managed AI, cloud browser, enrichment, and other metered services. One credit equals one cent; unused monthly credits do not roll over. Annual billing is paid once a year and monthly credits still refresh each month. External AI provider and proxy charges may apply when those services are used. Additional monthly tiers display $29.99 for 3,000 credits and $499.99 for 50,000 credits; confirm currency.
