Runloop
Cloud sandboxes and infrastructure for running AI coding agents
Linked from runloop.ai · checked 29 Oct
- Tool type
- Cloud sandbox infrastructure for AI agents
- Made for
- Teams building AI software engineering agents
- Runs on
- Runloop-hosted cloud, or your VPC/cloud on Enterprise
- Developers reach it via the web platform, APIs, and SDKs; the API console is for setup.
What it does
Runloop takes in code repositories, sandbox templates, and agent frameworks, then runs them inside isolated cloud development environments called Devboxes. Agents execute commands and use tools, and sandbox disk state can be snapshotted, branched, suspended, and resumed. Axons are event streams that record and observe agent interactions in real time.
People use it to give coding agents a secure place to work, such as responding to pull requests, generating test cases, or building UI components. Distinct parts include Blueprints for reusable Devbox configurations, Repo Connections that infer a build environment from a git repository, and suspend and resume for bursty workloads. It is reached through the web platform, the Docs and API reference, a CLI, and Python and TypeScript SDKs.
It suits teams building AI software engineering agents, from prototypes to production, and regulated enterprises. Sign-up includes $50 in credits, and a free Pro trial needs no credit card. Beyond the Pro plan fee, usage is billed on actual consumption with no minimums, and trial sandbox limits apply until upgrade.
What it can do
- Runs isolated micro-VM Devboxes (VM plus container layers) for executing agents and tools
- Snapshots, branches, suspends, and resumes sandbox disk state
- Automatically infers a build environment from git repositories
- Reuses tools, files, and keys through Agent, Object, and Secret stores and Blueprint templates
- Scales sandbox CPU or memory in real time and supports Docker Compose and nested Docker
- Streams agent interactions through Axons and connects via MCP servers, SSH tunnels, websockets, and APIs
Works with
- GitHub
- Google sign-in
- Slack support (Pro plan)
- AWS, GCP, and Azure (deploy to your cloud, Enterprise)
Before you choose
- Compute and storage are billed separately from the plan fee and depend on actual consumption.
- Trial sandbox limits (3 running Devboxes, 5 Blueprints, 10 snapshots, 3 objects) apply until upgrade.
- Enterprise features such as VPC deployment and reinforcement fine-tuning require contacting sales.
