What it does

Runway Creative is a cloud-based workspace where people generate and edit video, images and audio. It takes text prompts and creative direction and produces media using models such as Gen-4.5, plus third-party options listed on the plans page, including Kling 4.0 and Nano Banana Pro. Output covers video clips, still images, music, voice and sound effects, with 4K upscaling and watermark-free exports on paid plans.

People use it to build creative work in one place, with an agentic creative collaborator, an App Studio for building creative apps, and Runway Ads, which generates ads and publishes them to Meta, Google and TikTok. Pro and Max add Brand Kits and custom voice clones, and Pro adds Runway MCP. Runway also sells a developer API platform and a robotics toolkit, but these are separate products from the creative workspace.

It suits individual creators, teams and enterprises producing video, image and audio content. A free account is available, but its 125 credits are a one-time allowance. Paid plans spend monthly credits per generation, so costs depend on the model, length and resolution, and credits reset monthly on Standard and Pro.

Before you choose

• Credits are consumed per generation, so cost varies by model, duration and resolution
• Standard and Pro monthly credits do not roll over; only Max rolls over one month
