Shortshort

What it does

Shortshort is a web app for creators and teams working with podcasts, webinars, lessons, talks, streams, and other long videos. Upload an MP4, MOV, or WebM file, up to 2 GB, or provide a link to your own public or unlisted YouTube video. After choosing the number and target length of clips, the service analyzes the source and proposes short passages intended to begin and end on complete sentences.

Review the proposed clips in the editor: you can adjust their start and end points, titles, and caption words. Shortshort automatically reframes around a detected face, adds word-timed captions in one of four styles, and exports MP4s in 9:16 or 4:5 formats. You can download the exports or connect a YouTube channel to schedule posts; TikTok publishing is in early access, while Instagram is not connected. It requires a free account to run analysis and export. The framing is automatic, and in a two-person shot it may follow the listener rather than the speaker. Captions are not translated, and exported clips, source videos and transcripts enter the public gallery by default on free and paid plans. Any user can withdraw an export; paid users can disable automatic publication.

Paid monthly plans include monthly credits for source-video analysis: Starter €12/month for 480 credits, Creator €29/month for 1,600 credits, and Studio €79/month for 6,000 credits. One credit equals one minute of source video. Free accounts receive 30 one-time welcome credits; this is not a recurring monthly free plan. Unused credits roll over. Annual paid prices are Starter €115, Creator €278, and Studio €758, each for annual billing. Prices exclude VAT. Plan changes are currently by request. Creator and Studio users can buy credit top-ups; listed amounts are 400 credits for €9, 1,200 for €24, and 4,000 for €69.
