What it does
Sourcebot is a self-hosted code search and code-understanding tool for teams working across large codebases. It connects to code-hosting platforms and indexes repositories and branches, allowing users to search code, navigate symbols and ask questions across their repositories. Search results and answers can help developers investigate code and give coding agents context beyond the repositories available on a local machine.
Developers and engineering teams can use it alongside coding agents; the site also describes question-answering for product managers, support staff and new hires. Ask Sourcebot requires an LLM provider that the operator configures, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Vertex or Mistral, or a self-hosted model. Its MCP integration exposes code context to agents, and connectors can provide context from tools such as Linear or Jira. The product is deployed in the customer’s infrastructure, on-premises or in cloud infrastructure; setup uses its CLI. The public demo is a separate hosted way to explore the product.
Basic is free for up to five users. Pro is displayed at $25 per user per month with Monthly selected, or $20 per user per month with Annual selected; confirm currency and invoice terms. A 14-day Pro trial is offered. Enterprise pricing is custom. Operators provide the Docker infrastructure, repository credentials and configured LLM provider, whose operating and usage costs are separate.
