What it does

Suno turns a text description, your own lyrics, or a recording into a complete song with vocals, lyrics, and production. You describe a genre, mood, or topic, and it returns a finished track. It also produces instrumentals, separates songs into stems, and lets you remix existing songs by changing style or lyrics.

People start on suno.com or the iPhone and Android apps, generate a song, then regenerate, extend, or refine it. Suno adds a browser-based editor (Suno Studio) for arranging and mixing, a Voices feature that sings your lyrics in a voice you record, and custom models trained on your own recordings. Controls such as style and weirdness sliders and exclusions steer results. An early-access MCP connector also lets you make songs from inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code, or Cursor using your Suno credits.

It suits hobbyists, content creators, and songwriters who want drafts, background music, or ideas without music training. A free plan needs no credit card, but it carries no commercial rights and no song downloads or stem separation. Commercial use, downloads, Voices, and custom models need a paid plan, and Studio needs Premier. Credits do not roll over, and commercial use is subject to the terms of service.

Input: a voice memo and a style request. Steps: connect the Suno MCP in Claude or ChatGPT, ask the assistant to turn the memo into a song, then iterate with follow-ups. Output: a song saved to your Suno library, using plan credits.
