Telnyx models now served on Vercel AI Gateway
“Telnyx is now an inference provider on @vercel AI Gateway. zai/glm-5.3 and zai/glm-5.3-flash, served from GPUs we own, with the key you already have. Same workflow, better hardware.”

What it does
The Telnyx Agent Platform is a service for building and running voice AI agents that answer calls on real phone numbers. Telnyx describes it as a platform that owns the entire stack, from the GPUs that host speech and AI models to phone numbers and telephony, delivered through one API and one bill.
An agent can be defined with a single prompt in the portal's no-code builder, or scaffolded from the Telnyx GitHub repo with a coding agent. After picking a voice and attaching a number, the agent can be tested with simulated calls in the in-browser tester, then published to a real number and monitored end to end with AI Insights. Agents from Vapi, Retell or ElevenLabs can be imported, with prompts, voices and tool configs carried over.
It suits developers and voice teams who want speech recognition, inference, voice and telephony from a single vendor. A Telnyx account is required, and the platform can also be reached through the API, SDK or CLI. Plan details and the agent runtime options should be confirmed with Telnyx before budgeting.
What it can do
- Define a voice agent with a single prompt in a no-code builder or scaffold it from a GitHub repository
- Run speech-to-text, language model inference and text-to-speech in one native pipeline
- Attach a licensed carrier phone number to an agent and take live calls
- Test agents with simulated calls in an in-browser tester before going live
- Observe every conversation end to end with AI Insights
- Import prompts, voices and tool configurations from Vapi, Retell, LiveKit, Bland AI or ElevenLabs
Works with
- Vapi
- LiveKit
- Retell AI
- Bland AI
- ElevenLabs
Before you choose
- Telnyx describes itself as a licensed carrier issuing real numbers; number and telephony availability depends on regional inventory and regulatory requirements.
- Pricing and the terms of the free credit need confirmation on the Telnyx pricing page before budgeting.
- Migration is described for prompts, voices and tool configs from Vapi, Retell and ElevenLabs; coverage per configuration type should be verified before moving production agents.
