What it does
Tempo is a desktop IDE that lets designers, product managers, and engineers work in one workspace built on a real code repository. You bring in feedback, issues, and pull requests, and Tempo helps produce specs, clickable prototypes, and designs built from your team's actual components and tokens. Design canvases live as code in the repo, so design work can ship as a pull request rather than a static mockup.
Teams use Tempo to turn raw feedback into triaged issues, write specs and designs, and follow each piece of work through linked docs and pull request status. Its distinctive feature is running agents alongside people: you assign tasks to agents, which work in parallel across separate worktrees, with PR and CI status shown in one view. The site names Claude Code and Codex as supported coding agents, running on your own subscriptions.
Tempo suits product and engineering teams that want designers and PMs working directly against a real codebase. The desktop app is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, and the site also lists an Intel macOS download. Using agents requires your own coding agent subscriptions.
What it can do
- Build design canvases as code in your repository, using your real components and tokens.
- Turn raw feedback into triaged issues with a Triage Agent.
- Generate specs and clickable prototypes with a Spec and Design Agent.
- Reproduce bugs and open tested fixes as pull requests with a Bug Fixer Agent.
- Run parallel feature-building agents on separate branches, each opening a PR for review.
- View PR and CI status alongside work across multiple worktrees.

Before you choose
- Coding agents are powered by Claude Code and Codex on your own subscription and setup, so their access and costs depend on those products.
- Designs are built from your real codebase, so the workspace is most useful when your repository and components are in place.
