What it does
ToolJet is an AI app builder for internal tools. You describe the tool in plain English, or drive ToolJet from a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor through its plugin, and it generates pages, components and queries bound to your data. You then refine the draft in a visual editor, review queries and permissions, and publish it to your team.
Apps can connect to more than 100 data sources, REST and gRPC endpoints, or the built-in ToolJet Database, which is PostgreSQL behind a table editor. Governance features include roles and permissions, audit logs, SSO, Git sync and separate environments on higher plans. On self-hosted deployments, ToolJet also offers visual workflows with agent nodes for processing requests.
It is aimed at product, operations and engineering teams building dashboards, admin panels and approval tools. It runs as ToolJet Cloud or as a self-hosted install, including an open-source Community Edition. AI actions use monthly AI credits that vary by plan.
