What it does
Topaz Video takes existing footage, such as old archival film, low-light clips, compressed social video or AI-generated video, and outputs a cleaner, sharper or higher-resolution version. Its models handle upscaling (up to 4K and beyond), denoising, sharpening, deinterlacing, motion deblur, stabilization, SDR-to-HDR conversion and frame interpolation for smoother slow motion.
It runs as a standalone desktop app or as a plugin for editors such as After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. Rendering can happen locally, so files stay on your computer, or in the cloud using monthly video credits, which gives access to the newest models and relieves your hardware. A large set of named enhancement models lets you pick one suited to the footage type, such as live action, animation or generated clips.
It suits filmmakers, editors, archivists, creators and hobbyists restoring family videos. A paid subscription is required. Cloud credits renew monthly and do not roll over, and extra credits cost more. Some cloud-only models are not supported locally on Mac or AMD GPUs. Organizations earning over $1M USD annually need a Pro licence for commercial use. Results depend on source quality, and local speed depends on your machine.
