UiPath Platform for Agentic Automation
Enterprise platform for orchestrating agents, robots, APIs, documents and people
- Tool type
- Business orchestration and automation platform
- Made for
- Developers, enterprises, and regulated industries
- Runs on
- Cloud, on-premises, or self-hosted; Windows and macOS Studio
- Studio Desktop runs on Windows; Studio Web runs in a browser. Enterprise plans can deploy on dedicated cloud or self-hosted Kubernetes/Linux environments.
What it does
UiPath coordinates business processes that combine AI agents, RPA robots, APIs, documents, and human approvals into end-to-end processes or cases. Work runs with state held across long-running steps, exceptions routed to the right place, and pause-and-resume for approvals, with an audit trail of agent actions, human decisions, and applied policies.
Teams build automations in Studio, either visually or in code with the Python and TypeScript SDKs, and deploy them to Orchestrator for scheduling, monitoring, and governance. Maestro offers BPMN, Flow, and Case orchestration modes and an agent registry covering UiPath-native and third-party agents. Intelligent Document Processing (IXP), UI automation with self-healing, and test automation for enterprise applications sit in the same platform.
The platform suits enterprises in regulated industries that need governed automation at scale, and developers who want to build agents or automations code-first. A free Community License provides Studio and SDK access, one unattended robot, and monthly usage credits for individuals and small businesses, with no credit card required. Basic starts at $25 per month, while Standard and Enterprise are quoted by sales. Maestro Case is in preview.
What it can do
- Orchestrate end-to-end processes with BPMN, Flow, and Case modes, including durable state and pause/resume for approvals
- Build AI agents in Python or with the visual Agent Builder, with evals and observability
- Automate desktop and web UIs with RPA, including self-healing via Healing Agent and natural-language ScreenPlay
- Build API workflows and system integrations with the Integration Service and MCP Server
- Extract data from documents with Intelligent Document Processing (IXP)
- Run and maintain UI and API tests for enterprise applications through Test Cloud with CI/CD integration
Works with
- UiPath Integration Service pre-built connectors
- MCP Server for MCP-compatible coding agents
- Agent registry supporting Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and CrewAI agents
Example workflows
- Code-first agent deployment
- Input: a topic string and an agent specification. Steps: install the uipath CLI, authenticate, scaffold a coded agent with LangGraph, test with an input.json file, and deploy it. Output: a deployed agent package running on Orchestrator with scheduling and observability.
- Document-driven process with human approval
- Input: incoming invoices or contracts. Steps: extract fields with IXP, route exceptions to a human-in-the-loop step, then continue downstream automation through API workflows. Output: processed records and a business-transaction audit trail.
Before you choose
- Community License covers individuals and small businesses; enterprise scale, more users, and support require Standard or Enterprise, which are quoted by sales
- Maestro Case is in preview, so adaptive case management may not be fully production-ready
- Test Cloud add-ons such as Performance Testing and Screenplay carry separate usage-based charges
