Vijil Dome uses short-lived tokens instead of API keys
“Impacted by the LiteLLM compromise… again? Meet Vijil Dome. An all-in-one LLM gateway & guardrails solution that protects your agents, enforces policies, & secures API access with short-lived tokens instead of long-lived API keys. Learn more:”

What it does
Vijil is a platform for teams responsible for deploying and governing AI agents. Discover scans code, cloud environments, and endpoints to inventory agents and assign identities. Diamond evaluates agents with bespoke tests and adversarial evaluations, producing scores and reports. Dome applies runtime guardrails to inputs, model calls, tool calls, and outputs, while recording metrics and decision traces. The intended users include agent developers, business owners, and security or risk owners.
Teams can use the hosted console or run components in their own environment. The free hosted tier supports one agent, a weekly baseline evaluation, and one Quick adaptive run per month; accounts are opened by Vijil rather than through self-serve signup. Team pricing is per agent, monthly or annual, while private-network deployments are quoted as annual subscriptions. Dome’s open-source engine can also run in a local process without an account. Darwin, which is described as an agent-evolution module, is still in development.
What it can do
- Discover and inventory AI agents across code, cloud, and endpoints
- Assign SPIFFE identities to agents
- Evaluate agents with bespoke test suites and adversarial evaluations
- Generate scores and compliance-oriented evaluation reports
- Enforce runtime guardrails on inputs, model calls, tool calls, and outputs
- Monitor guardrail metrics and decision traces
Works with
- SPIFFE
- OpenTelemetry
- LangChain
- Google ADK
- Claude Code
Before you choose
- Hosted free accounts are provisioned by Vijil, not self-serve, and the free tier is limited to one agent, one baseline evaluation per week, and one Quick adaptive run per month.
- Hosted tiers run on Vijil’s console; the pricing page says evaluation traffic and decision traces reach Vijil. The in-network platform is an annual, quoted subscription.
- Darwin is in development; do not treat its advertised evolution workflow as generally available.

Get started
- For local Dome, install the open-source engine with `pip install vijil-dome`.
- Add Dome’s Python control wrapper around the agent call and configure a policy file.
- For hosted access, submit the free-trial form and wait for Vijil to open an account.
Plans and prices
Hosted free tier covers one agent and has stated evaluation limits. Team is charged per agent with monthly or annual billing; no per-evaluation or per-token charge. Private-network deployment is an annual subscription with no agent-count or token meter. Dome's open-source engine is free, but operation is bounded by customer hardware.
