ChipAgents launches IC-star chip neural engine for design
“Introducing IC-star, the chip neural engine powering autonomous digital and analog design. “It is not enough to make an individual model stronger or add more agents to a workflow. The #AI needs to understand the organization’s design knowledge, coordinate the right models and”

What it does
ChipAgents is an agentic platform for semiconductor engineering teams working across digital and analog IC design. Engineers provide objectives, constraints and design context; agents plan and carry out engineering workflows, use existing design tools, assess results and iterate toward machine-checked outcomes. The platform is intended to work within existing semiconductor design environments rather than replace established design, verification and signoff infrastructure.
Documented workflows include specification analysis, architecture exploration, RTL design and integration, functional and formal verification, debug and coverage closure, PPA-aware optimization, analog schematic and behavioral modeling, simulation, layout generation and physical verification. The platform can be deployed on-premises or in a customer's cloud environment. Its use requires access to the customer's engineering environment and relevant design tools; the public product pages direct prospective users to arrange a demo rather than describing self-service access or public pricing.
Engineers retain responsibility for requirements, constraints and signoff. ChipAgents says agent steps are checked using established tools such as compilers, simulators, lint, formal and timing checks; workflows dependent on unwritten engineering judgment remain with people. The product page describes a reviewable run trail, and teams should confirm supported tool vendors, client platforms and deployment prerequisites.
What it can do
- Plans and coordinates agents, AI models and engineering tools around design objectives
- Analyzes specifications and explores architectures
- Supports RTL design, integration, PPA optimization and closure
- Assists functional and formal verification, debug, coverage closure, and lint/CDC/RDC work
- Supports analog topology and schematic design, simulation, modeling, layout and physical verification
- Routes tasks dynamically among AI models and uses physics-aware prediction for design tradeoffs
Works with
- Customer's existing semiconductor engineering tools and workflows
- Compilers
- Simulators
- Lint and formal verification tools
- Timing tools
Before you choose
- Access is demo-led; public sources do not document self-service signup or a generally available trial.
- The platform operates with established engineering tools, which remain responsible for validating results; it is not presented as a replacement for signoff infrastructure.
- Pricing, supported tool vendors, and detailed deployment requirements are not publicly specified in published product information.
