What it does
Cleanlab Detect takes the responses an AI system produces, such as an LLM answer, a RAG output or an agent step, and returns a trustworthiness score for each one. The score combines several operations into a single metric with a clear explanation, so teams can see which responses look reliable and which need extra scrutiny.
Teams use the score to decide when an AI agent should answer confidently and when it should hand off to a human or fallback flow. The Trustworthy Language Model behind it can score responses from an existing model, including human-written ones, or be used in place of your own LLM to return outputs with scores attached. It targets hallucinations, wrong context and knowledge gaps, and does not need to be trained on your data.
It suits developers and enterprise teams building RAG systems, chatbots, agents and other LLM applications that need a reliability check in production. Access is through an API, and latency and cost can be tuned through configuration. Accuracy figures on the vendor pages are vendor-reported benchmarks.
What it can do
- Scores trustworthiness of responses from any LLM in real time
- Flags hallucinations, wrong context, and knowledge gaps in AI answers
- Provides a single combined reliability metric with an explanation
- Produces trustworthiness scores for responses from existing models or human-written text
- Offers configurable latency and cost settings through quality and model options
- Supports reliability checks across RAG, agents, chatbots, summarization, and data extraction
Before you choose
- Accuracy and benchmark results are vendor-reported and averaged over specific datasets; validate against your own use case.
- Access requires developer integration; the documentation describes an API rather than an end-user app.
- Pricing details are not published on the product pages; confirm costs with the vendor before adoption.
