What it does

Dext Prepare takes in receipts, invoices, bank statements and supplier statements, sent by mobile photo, forwarded email, WhatsApp, or dragged in from a desktop. It reads supplier, date, tax, total and individual line items, states over 99% accuracy, and passes structured, categorised data to the accounting software a business already uses.

People use it to stop keying documents into their books by hand. Captured documents are stored securely in Dext and can be searched later. Duplicates are flagged before they reach the ledger, supplier and tax-code treatments are remembered over time, and anything uncertain comes to the user first. Dext says it connects to 36+ accounting platforms, including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.

It suits small and medium businesses that want to cut manual data entry, and accounting or bookkeeping practices managing several clients. Business pricing is usage-based by documents and users, and a free trial is offered with no credit card required. Extraction of bank statements, line items and supplier statements runs on included credit allowances rather than unlimited use.

What it can do

  • Capture receipts and invoices from mobile, email, WhatsApp or desktop upload
  • Extract supplier, date, tax, total and line items at stated over 99% accuracy
  • Categorise documents using supplier and tax-code rules that learn over time
  • Flag duplicate documents before they reach the ledger
  • Store documents securely in Vault for later search and audit
  • Extract bank statements, supplier statements and line items using included credit allowances

Works with

  • Xero
  • QuickBooks
  • Sage

Before you choose

  • Extraction credits for bank statements, line items and supplier statements are allowances included in plans, so heavier months may need a higher plan.
  • Business pricing scales with document and user allowances and billing period; confirm the plan that fits your volume before committing.
  • Practices are priced per client per month with minimum client counts, so check which pricing route applies before buying.
