BIM Wizard turns 2D electrical drawings into 3D Revit models
“A month of modeling, done in about a week. BIM Wizard turns 2D electrical drawings into a routed 3D Revit model: initial model population for feeders and homeruns, NEC-compliant routing, clash detection, native Revit output. 👉 #DrawerAI #BIMWizard”

What it does
Drawer AI is an AI takeoff and estimating product for electrical preconstruction. It reads PDF electrical drawing sets, including panel and lighting fixture schedules, and detects power devices and lighting fixtures on each sheet. It links devices to panels and circuits, groups circuits, routes branch conduit from panels to devices, sizes wire with voltage drop and derating calculations, and merges multi-page sheets into one floor layout.
Estimators drag PDFs into the web-based app, review detected counts with built-in QA tools, and export an Excel report with quantities, device properties and wire lengths, plus a marked-up PDF showing the routing. BIM Wizard, a separate offering, is described as generating native Revit models from 2D drawing sets.
It is built for electrical contractors and estimating teams working on commercial and industrial projects. Starter and Enterprise plans are sold as annual subscriptions through sales, with a demo as the entry point. Several Starter and Enterprise features are labelled as upcoming for Q3, Q4 or 2027.
What it can do
- Detects power devices, lighting fixtures and panel schedules on PDF drawings
- Links devices to panels, circuits and feature tags
- Automated branch routing from panels to devices with conduit paths
- Automated wire sizing with voltage drop and derating calculations
- Stitches multi-page PDF drawings into a single continuous floor layout
- Exports Excel reports with quantities, device properties and wire lengths, plus marked-up PDFs
Before you choose
- Built exclusively for electrical takeoff; general construction takeoff needs may be better served by other tools.
- Routing and wire sizing depend on panel schedule data extracted from the drawings.
- Enterprise features such as SSO, admin controls and company symbol libraries are marked Q4 or 2027 and may not yet be available.
