What it does

FaceApp is a mobile app for editing selfies and portraits. The user picks a photo from the phone, then applies filters that change the face or hair: retouching to even out skin and remove blemishes, Impression makeovers, makeup looks, hair colour, hairstyle and volume, beards and mustaches, facial expressions, and an object remover. A compare tool shows the result against the original, and finished edits can be shared directly to social apps.

The app is built for people who want polished, natural-looking portraits without manual retouching skills. It is free to download and many filters are included in the free version. FaceApp Pro, a monthly or annual subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play, unlocks all filters and tools and removes watermarks.

Pro filters can be previewed on your own photos before subscribing. Prices appear in local currency inside the app, a free trial is offered only in some countries, and some features have been changed or removed over time, so check what the current app offers before subscribing.

  • You upload photos of faces to an app, so read the privacy policy and terms before use. Some features have been removed or changed over time.
