- Runs inside Workspace apps such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive and Meet; administered via the Admin console.
What it does
Gemini for Google Workspace adds AI assistance to the Workspace apps a team already uses. It takes in emails, documents, spreadsheets, meeting audio and uploaded files, and produces thread summaries, draft emails and documents, spreadsheet content, slides, meeting notes, short videos and answers grounded in your files. It also includes the standalone Gemini chat app and Gemini Notebook.
People use it in the side panel and inside apps such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet and Vids, rather than in a separate tool. Gemini Notebook answers questions from documents you provide and can generate Audio Overviews, Mind Maps and Video Overviews. Studio builds automated flows across Workspace apps. Google states that company data is not used to train Gemini models or for ads, and Gemini retrieves only content the user can already access.
It suits small and mid-size businesses and enterprises that already run, or are willing to adopt, Google Workspace. Access requires a Workspace plan, and a 14-day trial is available. Business Standard supports up to 300 users. Agent management and governance come with the Enterprise tier, which is sold through sales. Check plan details to confirm which features each tier includes.
