What it does

Grok takes typed or spoken questions and uploaded files, including PDFs, images, spreadsheets, code, audio and video, and returns written answers, summaries, extracted data, analysis, and generated images and video through Grok Imagine. Files up to 150 MB each can be attached, and many files can go into one chat.

People use it as a conversational assistant for brainstorming, writing, problem solving, and document work. It can also connect to email, files, and calendar through Connectors. Its distinct design is a single account whose conversations, settings, and subscription stay in sync across web, iOS, and Android. Paid plans draw on one shared weekly usage pool across chat, imagery, voice, and building, instead of separate per-product daily limits.

It suits individuals and teams who want a general assistant with strong file handling and media generation. A free tier exists with limited chat and voice; paid plans raise limits, and extra usage credits can be bought once the weekly pool runs out. Generated media carries a non-removable Grok watermark. Companions are iOS only, and Grok Bot is a separate product from Grok.

Input: a text description of a scene. Steps: open Grok Imagine, enter the prompt, review the result, and refine the prompt. Output: a generated image or video with a Grok watermark.

Before you choose

• Paid features pause when the weekly usage pool is used up until reset, unless you buy Extra Usage Credits (from $5, web only) or upgrade
• A subscription is tied to the account and store used to buy it, so web, Apple, and Google purchases can appear missing under a different login
• Generated images and videos carry a Grok watermark that cannot be removed

1. Go to grok.com or install the iOS or Android app and sign in
2. Optionally link your X account in Settings to apply an X subscription
3. Check Settings > Usage to see the weekly pool, and enable Connectors if wanted

Prices exclude sales tax. Annual billing is lower per month (Plus $80/yr). Extra Usage Credits are bought separately from $5 and expire after one year. Team seats cost the same per seat as individual Premium, Super, and Ultra.
