What it does

Happy Scribe takes audio and video files, as well as recordings from Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and produces transcripts, subtitles and translations across 150+ languages. Its AI Notetaker can join meetings and generate summaries and notes. Output can be exported as DOCX, TXT, SRT or PDF on most plans, with subtitle formats such as VTT, STL and XML on higher tiers.

People typically use it to turn recordings into searchable text, produce captions for video, create translated subtitle files, or receive meeting summaries after calls. AI Chat can analyze uploaded files, and optional human proofreading is available for an additional per-minute charge. Higher tiers add collaborative file editing with style guides and glossaries.

It suits individuals with occasional needs, small teams and agencies with larger volumes. The free plan includes a 10-minute AI trial and a 45-minute limit per recording. Example workflows

Subtitling a video for another language

Input: a video file. Steps: upload the file, run AI transcription, then AI translation to a target language, and export as SRT or VTT. Output: a translated subtitle file for the video.

Summarizing a recorded meeting

Input: a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams meeting joined by the AI Notetaker. Steps: the notetaker records the call, then generates AI meeting summaries and notes and can email them to participants where enabled. Output: a meeting summary and transcript.

• The free tier limits recordings to 45 minutes, exports to TXT, SRT, DOCX and MP4 with a watermark, and AI Chat to 3 files per month.
• Human proofreading is an extra per-minute charge on top of the subscription, starting at $2.00/min on Free and $1.90/min on Business.
• Annual billing lowers the monthly price, and extra AI minutes cost $0.20 each on paid plans.
