Heidi Scribe

What it does

Heidi turns clinical audio from patient visits into structured clinical notes using templates you choose. Audio can come from the Heidi Desktop app on macOS or Windows, which can also capture telehealth call audio and dictate across the screen, or from a clip-on microphone. Heidi can also answer clinical reference questions with medically cited answers through its Evidence feature.

Clinicians record or dictate a session, select a standard or advanced template and Scribe option, and receive a generated note. Voice settings control detail level, bullet structure and whether patient quotes appear. Evidence queries return cited answers, and on eligible plans they can also surface live suggestions during a visit. Standard templates are available on every plan, while advanced templates, custom documents and Ask Heidi depend on the plan.

Heidi suits individual clinicians who want documentation and reference tools, and practices that need shared templates and integrations. The Free plan includes unlimited transcription with standard templates and a limited number of advanced uses each month. The Clinician and Practice plans include a 14-day free trial. EHR integration depends on the plan and the EHR partner: embedded integrations may be available on Clinician, while connected integrations require Practice or above.

Clinical visit note

Input: recorded or dictated patient consultation audio. Steps: select a standard or advanced template and Scribe option, generate the note, then edit tone, detail and quoting in Voice settings. Output: a structured clinical note ready for review.

Evidence query during a visit

Input: a clinical question asked in Heidi Evidence, optionally with patient context on a supported plan. Steps: submit the query, review live suggestions and citations, and control the sources referenced where the plan allows. Output: a medically cited answer with transparent sources.

Before you choose

• Each user should have their own account; sign-in details should not be shared between clinicians or staff.
• EHR integration depends on both plan tier and the EHR partner; check whether your EHR is supported on Clinician or requires Practice.
• On the Free plan, advanced features are limited to 10 uses per month, after which standard templates still work.

1. Create an account at Heidi and choose the plan that matches your use, starting with the free plan or the 14-day trial on Clinician or Practice.
2. Download Heidi Desktop for macOS or Windows to dictate anywhere on screen or capture telehealth audio.
3. Configure Voice and Scribe defaults under Preferences and Settings, including the Quotes toggle and default templates.

Free includes unlimited transcription with standard templates and 10 advanced uses per month. Clinician and Practice include a 14-day free trial. Monthly billing is only for individual subscriptions, not teams. Enterprise requires contacting sales. Legacy Scribe Plus and Scribe Team tiers are available only to new EU and UK customers.
